Kennall Vale in Ponsanooth is an old gunpowder works now owned by The Wildlife Trust. Set in a valley, beauitful streams pass through old buildings where once the power of the water would have been used to grind gunpowder.

The Great Flat Lode is a circular trail around Carn Brea which encompasses Cornwall's tin mining heritage. Although far from flat, it is named as such because it is flat compared to other lodes in Cornwall. A lode is the metalliferous ore (in Cornwall, this being tin), that fills gaps in layers of rock.

Nancegollan is situated on the B3303, a few miles from Camborne, and is home to this tin mine. The tin mine is situated in a field which has access via a public footpath.

Loe Pool is situated near Porthleven, between Helston and Praa Sands. The lake (Loe Pool) is part of the Penrose Estate and is seperated from the sea at Porthleven by a sand bar (Loe Bar). There are many walks around the Penrose Estate which take you around the lake and to Loe Bar and out to the coast path. The Penrose Estate walks can be accessed via a National Trust car park.
